Multi-Million $ Scams on Automotive Marketplaces

In a digital world, we are surrounded by scams. It is becoming increasingly difficult to trust what is found online, especially when large sums of money are involved. When it comes to trusted online car listing websites, it is no different.

Just last month, popular scam baiting YouTuber Kitboga made a video about his interaction with a multi-million dollar scam that was affecting a family owned business. Impersonating this business, the scammer had vehicles which they didn't actually have possession of listed on sites like Carfax.com, Edmunds, and Facebook Marketplace. They had additional fake documents with the business owner’s forged signatures to have customers wire over money despite the fact that they would never actually see the vehicle. With many enraged customers arriving at the real location under attack from the scammers, the owners were confused and upset their business was being called a fraud even though they had nothing to do with it. Kitboga in his YouTube video titled “I Shut Down a Scam Car Dealership” has a phony phone call with the scammer to get information on the bank accounts they were using, and eventually have their whole operation shut down. Watch Kitboga’s video at https://youtu.be/CY-rEBV15-g. The fact is, many of today’s online platforms make it easy for scammers to defraud unsuspecting customers. Scammers manipulate documents, create fake listings of cars they don't own, and fool buyers into wiring them large sums of money for vehicles they will never see. Kitboga’s video helped to shed light on this problem, showing just how sophisticated these operations can be, how customer trust can be easily destroyed, and just how much money is lost. These scams often target big, well-known platforms, relying on their size and the vast number of listings to slip through unnoticed.

But at Rooster Inc., we are taking a different approach. We know how vital trust is when making a purchase as significant as a car. Our competitors, such as Carfax, Edmunds, and other large car listing sites struggle to detect every scam due to the sheer volume of listings they manage. They are what we call quantity over quality, which allows these scams to slip through the cracks. At Rooster Inc., we focus on the opposite: quality over quantity, ensuring that every single car, seller, and transaction is thoroughly verified before it’s listed. We pride ourselves on curating a selection of trusted and genuine listings so that our customers can browse without fear of encountering scammers. Our core values of accuracy, reliability, transparency, simplicity, and security set us apart from our competetor’s rather greedy approach. Unlike many larger platforms, we believe in fully protecting our buyers from the risk of fraud, ensuring that what you see on Rooster Inc. is always exactly what you get. Every listing is vetted, every document is legitimate, and every car is real. We are dedicated to giving our customers peace of mind in an otherwise risky marketplace, where others may fall short. When you choose Rooster Inc., you're not just getting a car—you're getting a guarantee of trust, honesty, and security in every transaction.

Don’t let scams ruin your car-buying experience. With Rooster Inc., we make sure you’ll never have to second-guess what’s real or worry about who you’re dealing with. The difference between us and our competitors is clear: we do the heavy lifting to protect you, so you can shop with confidence every time.
